Concrete Cleaning Houston TX
Restore sidewalks, pool decks, garage floors, and all concrete flatwork to their original appearance. We remove mold, mildew, oil stains, and years of Houston grime.
Houston's Climate Is Hard on Concrete
Concrete surfaces in Houston face conditions that most other cities do not. The near-constant humidity, which averages above 75% for most of the year, creates the perfect breeding ground for mold, mildew, and algae on any outdoor surface. Add in the heavy clay soils that wash red and brown sediment across walkways after every storm, and it does not take long for brand-new concrete to look years older than it actually is.
The Gulf Coast heat accelerates the problem. During summer, surface temperatures on exposed concrete can exceed 150 degrees, baking organic stains and mineral deposits deep into the pores. Then a sudden afternoon thunderstorm drops two inches of rain in 30 minutes, spreading more debris and starting the cycle over again. Without regular cleaning, Houston concrete develops a permanent layer of embedded grime that no garden hose can touch.

Our Concrete Cleaning Process
We start every job with a walkthrough to identify the type of concrete, its current condition, and any problem areas like oil stains, rust spots, or heavy algae growth. Different stains need different pre-treatments, and applying the right product before washing makes the difference between a good result and a great one.
For general cleaning, we apply a biodegradable detergent across the entire surface and allow it to dwell for several minutes. This loosens organic growth at the root so it does not grow back within weeks. We then use a commercial-grade surface cleaner attachment at 3,000 to 3,500 PSI, which spins two high-pressure nozzles under a sealed housing. This distributes pressure evenly across the concrete, preventing the streaky wand marks that DIY pressure washing often leaves behind.
For oil stains, we apply a hot-water degreaser and agitate it into the concrete pores before washing. Rust stains get a dedicated rust remover. Leaf tannin stains from live oaks, which are one of the most common issues in neighborhoods like The Heights and Montrose, respond well to our oxidizing cleaner.
After the main wash, we edge all borders, clean expansion joints, and do a final rinse working from the highest point down. The result is an even, uniform surface without patches or streaks.
Stamped and Decorative Concrete
Houston's newer subdivisions in Katy, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands feature a lot of stamped and colored concrete on pool decks, patios, and walkways. These surfaces need lower pressure settings and careful technique to avoid damaging the texture or stripping the color sealer. We use 1,500 to 2,500 PSI on stamped concrete, combined with a soft-bristle surface cleaner, and recommend resealing after cleaning to protect the finish and restore the color depth.
Hurricane Season Prep
Before hurricane season, which runs from June through November on the Gulf Coast, cleaning your concrete surfaces is more than cosmetic. Storm debris, standing water, and wind-driven rain carry contaminants that bond to dirty concrete much faster than clean surfaces. A pre-season cleaning also lets you spot cracks and drainage issues before a major storm puts them to the test.
